The power struggle in class rooms

As always the government is trying to help teachers regain their power in class rooms, the new guide lines for teachers when it comes to ‘unruly’ children is to basically use reasonable force which will cause some comments, good and bad from the public.

Under the new guide lines – it “may not always be possible to avoid injuring pupils” while using restraining techniques in the most extreme circumstances.

This is all well and good but why has it got to this stage in the first place?

I would guess there are going to be very mixed reactions when the first teach uses ‘reasonable’ force to stop a child hitting another or a teacher but wont this just start adding more pressure to the school and education systems.
